A person who designs their kitchen with storage space first and foremost in their mind, for instance, is likely going to be a very practical human being. On the other hand, if you pay close attention to the lounging areas of many individuals, you can find a key to their personalities therein, as a natural tones indicate a hardworking person’s desire to relax.
Conversely the red tones and satin sheets we use to decorate our bedroom would reveal a very different side to our personality â one that not everyone would see! That’s a good tip for determining the decor for our homes – have different plans for public versus private areas. A family throwing a party, in all likelihood, will attempt to keep certain areas of the house off limits due to their private nature.
Generally speaking, because bedrooms and associated areas will not be seen by anyone other than the home owner and close friends, you can save the luxury for those areas. When picking your floor decor, much will depend on how many people travel across your floor daily. Both the quality and color of a floor gives a good insight into what kind of character you have. Wool carpets are great for the bedroom, but a hard laminate is better for the hallways.
Your personality will also be evident in the accessories you select to complement your decor. How the tool of lighting is used will determine the way the rooms of your home are seen by visitors. A tool that you might want to use is the spotlight, which can either be used to give a nice warm glow, or light areas that truly need it. The rest of your home can be decorated in this manner too.
When you wish to highlight specific items – such as treasures that matter the most to you – spotlights are helpful, as are single light fittings. Still, the simplicity of mood lighting may work better for an individual with minimalistic sensibilities. In essence, we should be careful when we pick our home’s decor, because it could reveal more about our personality than we might begin to think it would.
